With solar PV systems increasing in popularity in recent years and energy prices increasing, Electrical Energy Storage Systems (Battery Storage Systems) are rapidly becoming increasingly in demand. This training course provides an in-depth understanding of the technology and the design requirements for their installation.
The training course has been designed to ensure individuals have the knowledge and required skills to design, install and commission electrical energy storage systems (EESS) in domestic and small commercial premises.
Anyone wishing to design, install or commission Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS).
The course is specifically aimed at practising electricians, electrical technicians and engineers with experience of electrical installations and associated inspection and testing.
Candidates Trainees must hold a formal craft qualification e.g.
Stand-alone technical certificates/vocationally related qualifications (VRQ) (non-competency based) are NOT acceptable.
It is highly recommended that candidates undertake the LCL Awards Solar PV training course prior to this course.
Topics covered in this qualification include:
Two to three days
Theory and practical workshop
Practical assessment and multiple-choice question paper(s)
Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive a BPEC certificate of competence in electrical energy storage systems (EESS)
Candidates attending the course will need a copy of the IET Electrician's Guide to Domestic Electrical Energy Storage Systems (ISBN-13: 978-1-83953-958-9) and will also receive a BPEC Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) training manual, as well as a copy of MCS Guide MDG 003 Solar PV Self-Consumption.
