This is a nationally recognised qualification in the design, installation and maintenance requirements of small scale solar photovoltaic systems.
The qualification is developed from the National Occupational Standards and is recognised by the Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies as an acceptable qualification to join one of their respective schemes.
To provide the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to install, commission and maintain photovoltaic solar electrical panels and systems.
Qualified or experienced electrical operatives over the age of 18 and who hold the relevant qualifications listed under the heading 'entry requirements/pre-requisites' below;

This qualification is intended for qualified and practicing electricians age 18+. Prior to registering for the qualification, learners must provide evidence that they meet the qualification pre-requisites by holding a Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671 (current edition) and one of the following:

Practical workshop and theory.
Practical tasks and multiple-choice question paper(s).
Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive an LCL Awards Level 3 Award In the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
Candidates will be provided with an LCL Awards Photovoltaic Solar manual
