This training and assessment course is designed for those who undertake gas auditing work in any sector, including social housing, so that they can assess an organisation's management of risk. This course is aimed at operatives involved in the work of installing cavity wall and loft insulation. It is also suitable for operatives who install external cladding systems.
The course and certificate, where relevant and applicable to the work being carried out by cavity wall insulation installers, is based upon the following elements of Appendix 6 of the Standards of Training in Gas Work document published by IGEM and EU Skills.
The course also covers other areas of relevant gas safety legislation and standards including the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations, Health & Safety at Work etc. Act and HSE RIDDOR.
This course is recognised by the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA).

Those attending this course will be provided with a good understanding of the relevant requirements of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 and how they relate to the work they undertake.

Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive a LCL Awards certificate of competence in the subject area undertaken.
