BPEC Water Regulations
Introduction
In 1999 local Water Byelaws in England and Wales were replaced by the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. This course is designed to update candidates with the relevant information and assess their knowledge.
Course Objectives/Key Benefits
To provide an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, which is used to control the installation and use of water supply systems.
Successful completion of the assessment also enables candidates to be able to join the Water Industry Approved Plumbers Scheme (WIAPS).
Who is the course aimed at?
The course is aimed at practising plumbers with experience in both hot and cold water systems, as well as anyone involved in the installation, design and specification of water systems, and anyone with limited previous experience who wish to update their knowledge.
Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites
The course requires candidates to have a knowledge and understanding of plumbing and heating systems and is ideally suited to existing plumbing engineers who should hold an NVQ in Plumbing at level 3 or equivalent (e.g. City & Guilds Advanced Craft) or who has suitable practical plumbing experience.

- Requirements of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999
- Understanding the requirements of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999
- Compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999
- Enable WRAS approval on the Water Industry Approved Plumbers Scheme (WIAPS)
- Issuing certificates of work carried out in accordance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999.

Course Outcome/Qualification
