BPEC UNVENTED DOMESTIC HOT WATER

 

INTRODUCTION:

Unvented water heating is the fastest growing sector of the U.K. Unvented systems are fed directly from the cold water mains supply and offer a number of benefits compared to conventional systems, such as;

*Higher pressures and flow rates at all hot taps
*Balanced hot and cold supplies
*No special taps required.

COURSE OBJECTIVES/KEY BENEFITS

The course enables candidates to install, commission or service unvented cylinders (or any mains fed appliance with storage of over 15 litres) to self-certify their work in accordance with Part G3 of the Building Regulations.

WHO IS THE COURSE AIMED AT

The course is aimed at individuals with a plumbing background or related trade interested in becoming involved in unvented hot water systems with a storage facility above 15 litres.

System design
Installation, commissioning and servicing unvented hot water cylinders
Fault finding on unvented hot water cylinders
Understanding legislation surrounding unvented hot water cylinder installations
How to become registered as an unvented hot water operative

TRAINING METHOD

Practical workshop and theory

COURSE OUTCOME/QUALIFICATION

Upon successful completion operatives will be awarded a BPEC certificate and will be able to apply for approved contractor status.

PRE-REQUISITE KNOWLEGDE/QUALIFICATION

None required. However, candidates should hold a current Water Regulations qualification prior to undertaking this course.
