OFTEC 201 - Commercial Commissioning/Servicing –
Pressure Jet Appliances

Introduction

This is a practical course designed for experienced operatives. This course is designed to take the operative through the correct procedures for commissioning/servicing commerical pressure jet oil fired appliances, including commercial boilers and warm air units.

Course Objectives/Key Benefits

The main area of this course is to ensure that the operative has a solid background and enough practical knowledge in oil to perform the everyday tasks of a competent commercial oil operative.

Who is the course aimed at?

Any experienced oil operatives, or plumbers wishing to undertake oil work.

For anyone new to the oil industry or, who feels they need to update their skills, it is highly recommended that they undertake the OFT50 training course.

Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites

Candidates should have competent plumbing skills and a knowledge and understanding of the domestic oil industry. For anyone new to the oil industry or who feels they need to update their skills it is highly recommended that they undertake the OFT50 training course.

* Steel and thermoplastic oil storage (more than 3500 litres)

* Combustion of kerosene
* Selection of nozzles

* Ventilation
* Flues
* Commissioning and servicing of commercial oil boilers and warm-air units

Course Duration

One day training is available for OFTEC 201.

One day should be sufficient to complete the OFTEC 201 assessment (in addition to any training undertaken).

Course Outcome/Qualification

Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will be eligible to join the OFTEC competent persons scheme.
