INTRODUCTION: This programme has been designed for those wishing to qualify as Home Inspectors, who are new to this profession and need a comprehensive programme of training and assessment to deliver the knowledge and skills they will require in their new role. Energy assessment is an essential component of the Home Inspectors skills and the SWAAT new entrant Home Inspector training and assessment programme has been configured to allow candidates to achieve the Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment at an interim stage. However, the course is designed on the basis that they have no relevant knowledge of experience of home inspection before starting the programme. COURSE CONTENT Workshop 1 - Introduction to Diploma and Portfolio Building; Provides candidates will all they need to get underway with the assessment process for the Diploma Workshop 2 - House Construction and Survey Helps candidates develop their practical experience and skills beyond the distance learning they have just completed. Workshop 3 - Energy Rating, Heating and Controls Provides candidates with the understanding of the methodolgy and the associated conventions that they need to undertake a Domestic Energy Assessment. Workshop 4 - Practice Assessment Opportunity to undertake practice assessment arranged by SWAAT and benefit from feedback, discussions and classroom exercises to provide and invaluable training opportunity. Online Exam A multiple choice, time-limited online assessment. TRAINING METHOD Mixture of one day workshops, home learning and practical assessment.
