Health and Safety for Managers and Supervisors
Introduction
The construction industry accounts for more than a quarter of all work-related deaths and over 4,000 major injuries every year. For this reason health and safety continues to be at the forefront of the industry's agenda and is central to the drive to qualify the construction workforce by 2011.

To provide those attending the course with the relevant knowledge and understanding that will enable them to carry out the management of health and safety within their respective organisations/workplaces.

Who is the course aimed at?
Anyone involved in, or is likely to become involved in the management or supervision of health and safety within an organisation/workplace.
Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites
There are no entry/pre-requisite requirements to undertaking this course.
Course content
* Basic knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, other Regulations,
* Approved Codes of Practice and Guidance with specific relevance to construction work.
* Health and Safety methodology
* Specific topic areas including manual handling, working at height, fire, exposure to noise and vibration, use of hand-held tools.

Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive a S.W.A.A.T. Health and Safety Management certificate.
