City and Guilds 6012 - NVQ Level 2 in Gas Installation and Maintenance

Introduction

The Gas Installation and Maintenance NVQ is a qualification designed primarily for new and recent entrants to the Gas Industry, which is achieved by building a portfolio of work carried out in a variety of specific gas areas. This portfolio is then verified by South West Assessment and Training assessors via on-site assessments.

Course Objectives/Key Benefits

To gain the knowledge, understanding and evidence required to be able to undertake the Core Domestic Gas Safety assessment.

Who is the course aimed at?

Anyone who employed or is able to gain work experience with a Gas Safe registered company or installer.

Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites

All candidates will need to gain relevant on-the-job experience under supervision of a Gas Safe registered installer in order to produce the evidence required for their portfolio. Since on-site assessment is a requirement for the work-based portfolio of evidence, the NVQ cannot be achieved without employment/work experience with a Gas Safe registered company or installer.
