FOUNDATION LEVEL DOMESTIC GAS SAFETY TRAINING

 

INTRODUCTION:

An in-depth course designed for new entrants to the gas industry (categories 2 and 3) to meet the core ACS assessment requirements.

First class technical training facilities where trainees can develop their installation and/or maintenance skills and knowledge in realistic domestic property simulations.

A full range of current and latest design of gas and electrical appliances, systems, controls and equipment.

Training and assessment to national standards - our centre is approved by BPEC, CITB, APHC and City and Guilds/Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) to offer a range of gas installation and maintenance NVQ/SNVQ qualifications.


A network of approved assessors who ensure trainees demonstrate competence throughout the required range of assessment criteria demanded by Awarding Bodies.

New entrants with no previous qualifications, but experience of working in the gas industry, to enable them to meet the Core ACS assessment requirements.

*Carrying out safety checks of domestic gas appliances

*Taking appropriate action when dealing with unsafe appliances

Recommendation for assessment under ACS.

PRE-REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATION

Candidates need no previous qualifications, but should either be working or have worked in the gas industry and gained practical experience. Candidates will need to have practical work evidence, carried out during the course of their work, signed by a registered practicing operative, in order to fulfill the criteria of putting together a portfolio of evidence. Candidates will also need an up-to-date Viper Book (available from our Training Resources department), as well as a BPEC Foundation Level Gas Portfolio, available directly from BPEC on 0845 644 6558. Only upon successful completion of the Foundation Gas Course will candidates be able to proceed to undertake the ACS assessment and any add-ons.
