FAST TRACK NON-DOMESTIC GAS SAFETY TRAINING

 

INTRODUCTION:

This training package includes training on changeover domestic natural gas to commercial natural gas installations, servicing and commissioning. The pre-requisite installation first fix of commercial pipework and appliances, commission, service, repair and breakdown of three commercial (heating or catering) appliances and tightness testing and direct purging of installation pipework. The package is intended for those with relevant experience of the subjects covered.

COURSE OBJECTIVES/KEY BENEFITS:

On completion delegates will be able to demonstrate their safety awareness and competency in the contents of the course listed below in Natural Gas, LPG or Commercial Gas.

WHO THE COURSE IS AIMED AT:

Specifically designed for those who hold a current ACS qualification (CCN1). Candidates will have to provide evidence of this qualification.

*Combustion and its controls

*Meters

*Gas pressures and flow

*Domestic pipework installation

*Tightness testing

*Purging

*Flues

*Ventilation

*Installation of domestic gas appliances

*Commissioning domestic gas appliances

*Servicing domestic gas appliances

*Carrying out safety checks of domestic gas appliances

*Taking appropriate action when dealing with unsafe appliances

TRAINING METHOD

Practical workshop and theory. THIS COURSE CAN BE CARRIED OUT 'ON-SITE'.

COURSE OUTCOME/RECOMMENDATIONS

Recommendation for assessment under ACS.

PRE-REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATION

Candidates should be experienced to Category 1. Category 2 candidates require additional evidence for assessment and will need to complete a portfolio of evidence. They will also need to produce evidence that they are currently working in the gas industry (in the form of a letter from their employer), and have copies of their previous qualifications.
