Combi Boiler Fault Finding
Introduction
This is an in-house course designed to provide candidates with the basic core knowledge associated with fitting and fault finding gas combi/boilers. It has been written by our own training team and is designed for plumbing and heating engineers who install and service combination/ boilers.
A practical 'hands on' approach is adopted to enable candidates to safely and satisfactorily find the majority of faults associated with combination boilers.

To provide relevant information and knowledge related to fault finding on gas combi/boilers.
A large percentage of the course is devoted to ensuring that candidates can use, and understand the readings, given by an electronic multi-meter when testing components.
Who is the course aimed at?
Any Gas Safe Registered operatives who wish to undertake gas combi/boiler repairs.
Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites
Anyone undertaking this course must hold a current Gas Safe Register operative card.
Course content
- Practical experience of working on both combination and regular gas boilers
- Using a multi-meter to identify faulty components
- Understanding the operation of combination/boilers
- Understanding functions, error codes and manufacturer's instructions
- Understanding key differences between manufacturers' combination/boilers
- Identify symptoms of problems on individual combination/boilers
- Fault finding and rectification
- Exchanging components according to manufacturer's instructions

Course Outcome/Qualification
There is no formal assessment (although a number of faults will be set on boilers at the end of the day and the candidate asked to identify them).
