City and Guilds 2372 - Installation and Testing of Domestic Solar Photo-voltaic Systems
Introduction
This City and Guilds 2372 Certificate is intended for qualified electricians who want to install grid connected domestic photovoltaic systems that are either integrated into, or retro fitted onto, a domestic property. It is concerned with domestic systems installation within prescribed specifications and therefore does not cover design or glazed or curtain wall systems.
Course Objectives/Key Benefits
The award is designed to offer specific skills and knowledge to electricians to ensure they are conversant with the Regulations and Codes of Practice related to PV systems. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) supports the recognition of qualified personnel within this initiative and sees PV systems as an essential part of the Government energy policy.
Who is the course aimed at?
Qualified or experienced electrical operatives holding a minimum of a 17th Edition and Inspection and Testing qualification.
Anyone who has no electrical experience or qualifications, or for those wishing to update their existing knowledge, are highly recommended to undertake theBasic Electrics and the 17th Edition electrical courses prior to this one.
Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites
It is expected that candidates will be practicing electricians and have appropriate qualifications related to electrical installation, knowledge of the IEE Wiring Regulations and inspection and testing. Therefore anyone undertaking this course must have a minimum of a 17th Edition and a commercial Inspection and Testing qualification.
Anyone who has no electrical experience or qualifications, or for those wishing to update their existing knowledge, will need to undertake the Basic Electrics, Part P, and/or the 17th Edition electrical courses prior to this one.
