BPEC Photo-voltaic Solar (PV)

Introduction

The course provides the knowledge on how to install a solar PV system and takes into consideration the majority of systems installed in the UK investigating the different system configurations, components and operating characteristics.

The course targets aspects which are particular to solar PV systems giving operatives the confidence to select, install and maintain systems.

Course Objectives/Key Benefits

To provide the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to install, commission and maintain photo-voltaic solar electrical panels and systems.

Who is the course aimed at?

Qualified or experienced electrical operatives holding a minimum of a 17th Edition qualification. However, it is recommended that anyone looking to undertake this course also holds a Domestic Periodic Inspection and Testing qualification.

Anyone who has no electrical experience or qualifications, or for those wishing to update their existing knowledge, are highly recommended to undertake the Basic Electrics and the 17th Edition electrical courses prior to this one.

Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites 

Anyone undertaking this course must have a good electrical knowledge and understanding and experience of working on domestic or commercial electrical supplies as well as holding a minimum of a 17th Edition qualification and either a Part P or formal craft qualification e.g. N/SVQ3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent earlier certification that includes inspection and testing.

Anyone who has no electrical experience or qualifications, or for those wishing to update their existing knowledge, will need to undertake the Basic Electrics, Part P, and/or the 17th Edition electrical courses prior to this one.
