The EAL TAQA (formerly A1) Assessors Award enables delegates to formulate assessment plans, make judgements against performance criteria, give feedback to candidates and contribute to the internal verification system within their own subject area.
This qualification is a pre-requisite to the Verifier (IQA) award.
To provide the required knowledge and understanding to successfully carry out unbiased and fair assessments of competence.
This course is for any competent practitioner of practical based subjects who wishes to obtain the relevant, current, up to date qualification, which enables them to make judgements against evidence presented to them for assessment against subject performance criteria
Candidates should hold a level 3 qualification in their specialist subject and have been a competent practitioner for a minimum of 3 years.
In addition they must have been practicing within the last 2 years.
This is an ongoing process which has a maximum time limit of three years for completion from the date of commencement.
Candidates are required to compile a portfolio of evidence and will also need to undertake observed assessments.
Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive an EAL TAQA Assessor Award.
