EAL A1 Assessors Award

Introduction

The EAL A1 Assessors Award enables delegates to formulate assessment plans, make judgements against performance criteria, give feedback to candidates and contribute to the internal verification system within their own subject area.

This qualification is a pre-requisite to the Internal Verifier (V1) award.

To provide the required knowledge and understanding to successfully carry out unbiased and fair assessments of competence.

Who is the course aimed at?

This course is for any competent practitioner of practical based subjects who wishes to obtain the relevant, current, up to date qualification, which enables them to make judgements against evidence presented to them for assessment against subject performance criteria.

Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites

Candidates should hold a level 3 qualification in their specialist subject and have been a competent practitioner for a minimum of 3 years. In addition they must have been practicing within the last 2 years.

* Formulating assessment plans
* Making judgements against performance criteria
* Giving feedback to candidates
* Structuring a portfolio of evidence

Course Duration

This is an ongoing process which has a maximum time limit of three years for completion.

Theory

Assessment

Candidates are required to compile a portfolio of evidence and will also need to undertake observed assessments.

Course Outcome/Qualification

Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive an EAL Level 3 A1 Assessor Award.
