City and Guilds 6089 NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing

Introduction

This course is work based and requires the student to compile a portfolio of evidence that, when combined with the City and Guilds 6089 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Services (Domestic), will enable the apprentice/adult trainee to achieve a full Level 2 NVQ in this area of Plumbing.

To provide an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of basic plumbing principles in preparation for the Level 3 course.

Who is the course aimed at?

The course is aimed at anyone who has completed the City and Guilds 6129 Certificate in Plumbing or Fast-track Plumbing Course and is employed in a role that is related to plumbing.

Entry Requirements/Pre-requisites

Anyone undertaking this course must have completed the City and Guilds 6129 Certificate in Plumbing and be employed in a role that is related to plumbing.

Students will be provided with materials and tools but to satisfy Health & Safety requirements students will require steel-capped footwear and overalls.

Course Duration

Dependant on experience. PLEASE NOTE: Plumbers who have completed a minimum of 5 years work experience in the Plumbing Industry are able to access this course directly (i.e. without a Technical Certificate in Plumbing)

Course Outcome/Qualification

Candidates who successfully complete this course will receive a City and Guilds 6089 NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Plumbing.

PLEASE NOTE: This qualification does not include gas - this is included within the Level III course. However if you are working for a Gas Safe registered company, or alongside a Gas Safe registered individual, it is possible upon successful completion of this qualification to undertake the BPEC Foundation Gas course.
