EAL 18TH EDITION WIRING REGULATIONS (Requirements of electrical installation) ONE DAY UPDATE (from 17th Edition)

Introduction

This is a one-day training course (including the exam) which concentrates on informing delegates about the updated 18th Edition Wiring regulations and how this may affect them in their place of work.

Course objectives/key benefits

To provide the required knowledge and understanding of the 18th Edition electrical wiring regulations necessary to undertake work on electrical installations, as well as updating existing qualifications.

Who is the course aimed at?

Electrical engineers, Technicians, Electricians and any other persons involved in the design, installation, inspection, testing, certification and maintenance of electrical installations as defined in BS: 7671 The IEE Wiring Regulations.

Attendees should already be qualified and conversant with the IEE Wiring Regs, 17th Edition Amendment No. 3

Candidates should have an excellent understanding of electrical installations as well as holding a 17th edition qualification.

For anyone new to electrical work, or who would like to update their knowledge and skills, it is highly recommended that they undertake the Basic Electrics course prior to this course.

Multiple-choice computer EAL on-line examination.

Course Outcome/Qualification

Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive a EAL certificate of competence and will also be able to carry out work in accordance with the scope of this course.

At the end of the course candidates will be have an understanding of most of the requirements of BS7671, as well as the most recent changes specified by IET.

The qualification is required by most employers within the industry. It is also a requirement to become Part P registered with some electrical Registration Bodies (PLEASE NOTE: This qualification on its own does not make any successful candidate Part P qualified/registered).
